For those in the Washington, DC area, I will be instructing a live version of my Natural Language Processing course at General Assembly. This session will introduce students to the basics of Natural Language Processing.
Introduction to Natural Language Processing

Natural Language Processing is a subset of data science that focuses on taking, messy, human-created text and extracting meaningful information. Python and the Natural Language Tool Kit make great tools for exploring NLP techniques. This workshop will lay the basic foundation needed for a practical application of NLP.
- Understanding of NLTK’s capabilities.
- Ability to load, manipulate, and extract value from unstructured text.
Prereqs & Preparation:
- A basic understanding of the python programming language
